From Passion to Poolside: Meet Our Franchisees – Amy & Andrew Strozier
For Amy and Andrew Strozier, building a business wasn’t just about entrepreneurship — it was about building a future for their family. With two young children in tow and a shared desire to make a meaningful impact, they made the decision years ago to dive headfirst into franchise ownership with Goldfish Swim School. In addition to being part owners of the Goldfish Swim School in Dayton, OH, they have gone on to have partial ownership in other schools as well. They have a strong team and their passion for their communities is deeper than ever.
Building a Family Business
When the Stroziers first discovered Goldfish Swim School, it checked every box on their wish list: a mission-driven model, a strong operational support system, and the opportunity to work side by side in a business that aligned with their values as parents.
What truly resonated, though, was the chance to build something meaningful together.
Being part owners of a swim school meant their work could directly benefit families like theirs. It meant that while they were raising their own children, they were also helping other parents keep their little ones safer in and around the water. And for Amy and Andrew, that alignment of purpose was something they couldn’t ignore.
Redefining Success Over Time
Those early days — grand opening celebrations, training new staff, learning systems, meeting the first families through the door — were fueled by energy, determination, and a whole lot of love for the mission. At that time, “success” meant getting their school open, building community awareness, and proving to themselves that they could do this.
Now, years later, success looks different.
It looks like growth and strong teams.
It looks like students who started as babies and are now confident swimmers.
It looks like parents who trust them and communities that embrace them.
And perhaps most meaningfully, it looks like the Stroziers being able to take a step back occasionally, knowing their schools can run without them if they need to take a short break from the day-to-day.
Their business didn’t just grow; they grew — into leaders, into employers, into trusted partners in their communities.
A Passion for Safety and Community Impact
If you ask Amy and Andrew what continues to motivate them, the answer is simple: the kids.
Every day, they see firsthand the difference that quality swim lessons make — not just in skill, but in confidence and safety. Their passion for the Goldfish mission has only intensified as they’ve watched children learn lifesaving skills, celebrated milestones with families, and have seen their communities come to view the schools as trusted resources.
For the Stroziers, their swim schools are more than a business. They’re places where families grow, memories are made, and lifesaving skills are taught — with warmth, fun, and intentionality.
Why Being “All In” Matters
The Stroziers share a theme that resonates across many Goldfish franchisees: the importance of being fully committed.
They believe that to get the most out of the Goldfish system — the support, the proven process, the culture, the growth potential — you have to be willing to lean in, ask questions, learn from fellow owners, and embrace the day-to-day realities of franchise ownership.
Their story is a testament to what happens when you do just that.
A Journey Rooted in Purpose
Today, Amy and Andrew are proud franchisees, proud parents, and proud community leaders. Their journey from passion to poolside is one defined by hard work, heart, and deep belief in the power of what Goldfish Swim School can bring to communities.
And as part of our franchise family, they embody what makes Goldfish special: mission-driven owners who show up, dive in, and build something meaningful — both for their own families and for the families they serve.
